Let's jump on the Magic School Bus and have a quick history lesson: the ring mostly associated with marriage or engagement of a relationship stems from the historic belief that the left-handed ring finger was connected by a vein that went directly to the heart, therefore, demonstrating a person in love.
Now, as a single gal living in the 21st Century, I can appreciate that the only NEED I have for love is the one that stems from the obsession for rings themselves.
